Man of the World Presents:
DAY OFF
what A day off looks like
I arrive in the morning. It's a day off so our subject doesn't have an alarm set. Coffee is brewing; pets and kids are still moving slow. It's the perfect opportunity to observe and interact with someone in their home.
Aesthetics are always number one for me, so we only choose the perfect candidates for this article. We find the man who cares deeply about the details of piecing out his life. Sophisticated home decor, well curated closet and hopefully well traveled so he's picked up a few treasures along his way.
The words in this article are secondary. The visuals carry it. The beautiful interiors, photo of his bedside table, closet, book shelves. A grid photo of his day off essentials (book, camera, watch, outfit, sneakers) meticulously laid out (by me) to perfection. All photos in the article consistent in edit and style.
When the coffee cups are empty and the stories dry up we head out the door – but not to the office like usual, today is their day. We follow them to their first destination and say our goodbyes once we arrive, we just need to capture them for a moment to prove to our readers they really are taking a day for themselves. Our goal is to catch a glimpse into their rare yet vital day of repose.
This article wouldn't be successful with many brands/publications. The people we feature don't let just anyone into their home, but when they learn that Man of the World is the the one interested, they'll open their doors.
